Para Militarized Police Seize Cell Phone Evidence  in Georgetown

A Georgetown Citizen alleges that police accosted her and applied excessive force, causing her harm, after she had videotaped an arrest they had made. LEX 18 spoke to the woman and the police, who have two different stories. “I was standing there, minding my own business, and all of a sudden I’m in handcuffs,” said Kitty Lane.

Lane and her son, Joseph, were at the barber shop on Georgetown’s Payne Avenue when they saw some commotion in the street. “I was in the barber shop chair. Ed was doing my hair, and I noticed what was happening outside,” said Joseph Lane.

Georgetown Police had run down a man on a motorcycle that they had been chasing. “Some police had knocked over a motorcyclist and then immediately put a gun to his head,” said Kitty Lane.

Kitty and Joseph Lane ran outside and began to watch the arrest. Kitty Lane’s eight-year-old grandson took video of the arrest on her phone. She said that later, the officers approached her, asking to see her phone, but she refused to take it out of her back pocket.

“He said, ‘I need your phone,’ and he kind of came at me, and I was kind of walking back more quickly now,” said Kitty Lane. She said that the officer then threw her to the ground and put her in handcuffs while telling her the “quit resisting” as they seized her phone.

Georgetown Police have said that the case is under investigation so they can’t talk about it but that they do not agree with Lane’s account of the story. Of course police said that Lane put her hands on an officer first and that the motorcyclist they had arrested was wanted on a felony, giving them the right to seize the cell phone for the video.

Lane said that she hopes this kind of encounter is rare. “I’ve raised my children here. There’s fine officers in this town,” said Kitty Lane. “That puts a mar on this town.” Georgetown Police have obtained a warrant to search the phone’s videos but are not sure if the footage has any usable evidence in the felony case but may indeed be evidence of the officers own questionable conduct, unfortunately ‘we the people’ may never know which.

The seizure of any citizens personal property with out prior warrant sets a dangerous president and will no doubt allow for further violation of rights if abused by authority. “It’s really scary to think that if I film some nefarious activity perpetrated by police that they can indefinitely detain me, take my camera, phone or whatever and the courts will cover for them ex post facto” said one Scott County Libertarian “that’s not protecting and serving, that’s ‘police state’ oppression treating citizens like occupied insurgents”

The local LP member who wishes to remain anonymous also pointed out a spurious, yet no less disturbing, observation about “Police State Gtown” which is the massively excessive amount of Military Surplus they have acquired from the Department of Defenses 1033 program totaling $556,734.67 in hardware; a figure staggering enough in its self but when combined with The Scott County Sheriffs Department’s $523,941.60 in Military Surplus which includes 3 Helicopters, paints a vastly different picture 'scenic georgetown’ than the powers that be would have us believe.

Ashley Madison Leak Exposes Millions

This week a massive data dump from The Impact Group exposed millions of would be  cheaters lured into registering on the scam site Ashley Madison which promisees confidential diecretion to those looking to hook up with other cheaters.

TIG issued this statement upon leakage:
"Avid Life Media has failed to take down Ashley Madison and Established Men. We have explained the fraud, deceit, and stupidity of ALM and their members. Now everyone gets to see their data.

Find someone you know in here? Keep in mind the site is a scam with thousands of fake female profiles. See ashley madison fake profile lawsuit; 90-95% of actual users are male. Chances are your man signed up on the world's biggest affair site, but never had one. He just tried to. If that distinction matters.

Find yourself in here? It was ALM that failed you and lied to you. Prosecute them and claim damages. Then move on with your life. Learn your lesson and make amends. Embarrassing now, but you'll get over it."

This mass outing of personal information comes at a convenient time for would be internet censors who may use the data security breach as leverage to push for ratification of CISA, the latest iteration of CISPA, SOPA, ACTA, PIPA (take your pick) under the auspices of security; which would not be out of character for nanny statist, who "never let a good crisis go to waste", ironically they can't even keep their own data  secure from Chi-Com and other hackers.

if you don't want to spend hours chasing links through layers of articles the full data dump can be downloaded here:

Madison County Police claim they were "triggered" into attacking a man in custody because of his “combative stance” which the video reveals consisted of nothing more than eye contact.
“You need to drop the *** attitude alright?” taunted an officer standing in John Hanson’s blind spot. Just as Hanson replied, “I ain’t dropping no **** attitude,” the same officer shoved Hanson by the throat. Then two other officers joined in abuse punching and tasing Hanson.

As a result of police brutality, Hanson suffered a shoulder injury that left him in the hospital for four days. Now he’s suing the jail in federal court for pain and suffering and expenses.

Kentucky Recieves 46 MIllion in Military Surplus

8/19/2015

Despite public funding many local law enforcement entities are reluctant to disclose exactly what military surplus they're received, luckily The Marshall Report has obtained The DOD's own numbers for public review. Curious what military grade hardware your county is holding? Check out the links below to find out more.
Knowledge is only half the battle, how you use it is what matters. It falls to 'we the people' to hold out public officials accountable and it only takes one voice to ask the right question, so if your concerned about the militarization of domestic law enforcement pick uptake phone and ask your local law enforcers why exactly the need to be armed like they're an occupying force
