LEXINGTON, Ky. - Establishment candidates for lieutenant governor sounded off Tuesday night, selling a host of issues, including creating jobs, making college affordable, health care, education, same-sex marriage in Kentucky and Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis
The candidates largely pandered the platforms of their running mates, however, there were a few times when they took the opportunity to take shots at each other's campaigns. Hampton is campaigning with Republican Matt Bevin; Overly is on Democrat Jack Conway's ticket.
Independent Candidate Heather Curtis, running mate of Drew Curtis, was excluded due to scrutinous criteria which requires candidates to meet the League of Women Voters standard which dictates candidates must have 10 percent support in non-partisan opinion polls. In the last WKYT, Herald-Leader Bluegrass Poll, Curtis had 8 percent.
