In anticipation of his official filing on August 11th, Patterson will be speaking on his platform at this weekend's Nothin' Fancy Farm in Madison County where he's sure to raise some interest as he seems to be the only senatorial candidate willing to engage in conversation about real issues effecting Kentuckians and the nation at large.
Recently in an interview with 412Libertarian Paterson touched on a few of his platform planks while expounding his position on Illegal Drugs. "We all know what drugs are. Does making a drug illegal keep people from getting it, or doing it? The answer of course is no, so my question is, why make drugs illegal in the first place? If it’s going to cost the taxpayers money and bolster the black market, why do we do that? The reality is that for some reason the majority hasn’t figured out that it doesn’t work. Drug use is going to be there, it’s going to happen, so why are we wasting our money fighting this?"
