Kentucky Libertarian Senatorial Candidate David Patterson, a Peace Officer and Member of Law Enforcement Against Prohibition is quoted as saying "I would like to see society get to the point where we realize prohibition does not work. Marijuana for recreational use should definitely be legalized."

In anticipation of his official filing on August 11th, Patterson will be speaking on his platform at this weekend's Nothin' Fancy Farm in Madison County where he's sure to raise some interest as he seems to be the only senatorial candidate willing to engage in conversation about real issues effecting Kentuckians and the nation at large.

Recently in an interview with 412Libertarian Paterson touched on a few of his platform planks while expounding his position on Illegal Drugs.  "We all know what drugs are. Does making a drug illegal keep people from getting it, or doing it? The answer of course is no, so my question is, why make drugs illegal in the first place? If it’s going to cost the taxpayers money and bolster the black market, why do we do that? The reality is that for some reason the majority hasn’t figured out that it doesn’t work. Drug use is going to be there, it’s going to happen, so why are we wasting our money fighting this?"

When will you be running? 2016? Where do you stand on Abortion? I'm against it, but I think Goverment needs to stay out of our personal lives! Foreign Policy. Ban the Council of Foreign Relations, fire the FED, take our Treasury back, and break up the monopoly the Corporations have on media propagand

Joey, I believe abortion and the death penalty are legalized murder. I also believe both should be handled at the state level. I will be in this years U.S. Senate race in November. I am a noninterventionist. I have no problem with our country helping other nations when asked, and when cost effective, but not bullying or pushing 'American' ideology on sovereign nations and people. End the FED! Work towards ending federal taxes and fund our government through shutting down unnecessary government departments/functions.
