Libertarian Candidate Nears Ballot Access in KY
With the deadline less than a month away, Libertarian Party of Kentucky Petitioners have collected 80% of the required 5000 Signatures required for their Senatorial Candidate David Patterson to gain ballot access in The Commonwealth of Kentucky.
This week Independent Ed Marksberry announced he was dropping his bid for the position, so there will only be three candidates on the ballot in November. Patterson responded, "I thank him for stepping forward to improve public discourse. The petitioning process for those who aren't Democrats or Republicans is brutal, and it is unfortunate that it has caused a legitimate candidate to no longer be a choice for voters in the fall." Democrats and Republicans only need 2 signatures to run for US Senate. All others need a minimum of 5000 signatures.
