HINDMAN, Ky. — This Weekend a Knott County man was killed after a confrontation with two Kentucky troopers.
According to Kentucky State Police, the troopers were responding to a report of a man was walking his property in the Pine Top community with a gun, threatening to shoot anyone who came around his home, a display in compliance with Kentucky's Castle Law.
Police say troopers attempted to negotiate but the man refused to bring his hands into view. Then the man began threatening to kill the troopers. Police say one of the troopers opened fire after the man brought his right arm around "in an aggressive manner." WYMT-TV reports the man has been identified as 53-year-old Stephen Brock. He was struck at least twice and died at the scene.
Both troopers have been placed on administrative leave while the investigation is ongoing.
