Libertarian  Chair Sarwark Sounds Off On Syrian Refugees

These are the unadulterated words of LNC Chair Nicholas Sarwark compiled via Social Media Post:

ISIS is horrible and does horrible things. That's why people want to escape.

ISIS is on record as saying that their plan is to foment Islamophobia in the West. They believe this will force people over to their side.

As Libertarians, we treat people as individuals, rather than judging them by what country they were born in. We believe in the freedom to escape from tyranny and horror. We understand that when we let fear overcome who we are, innocent people will die for our irrational fear.

For everyone calling to turn away all refugees fleeing ISIS, you're part of a long American tradition. When Jewish refugees fled the Nazis, America turned them away.

The Libertarian Party doesn't just use the Statue of Liberty as a symbol, we believe in the words inscribed on it:

"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
BySend these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

If you also believe in those words, you're part of a longer and more noble American tradition. Please join the Libertarian Party as we fight to uphold it.
