Just how many economy-killing “free trade” agreements is our so-called Commander-in-Chief going to sign America up for? It should be noted that “free trade” agreements in the past haven’t exactly played out to the benefit of the average American.
Instead, “free trade” agreements like NAFTA, KORUS, and the soon-to-be TPP have and will continue to result in massive trade deficits, unprecedented and unsustainable national debt, alarming job losses, the outsourcing of key industries, urban decay, a flood of foreign, toxic imports, and more. The middle class is shrinking as a result, while the greedy 1% continue to benefit from our economic woes.
The TTIP will be no different in its effect on our nation.
As it stands right now, President Obama’s TTIP, also referred to as TAFTA, will bridge the economies of the United States and the European Union. After a recommendation from the United States-European Union High Level Working Group on Jobs and Growth, negotiations regarding the details of TTIP began in early 2013.

In a similar show of protest like we have seen with the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), many in the public are protesting TTIP’s lack of transparency, and rightly so. The secrecy surrounding the agreement should have more people up in arms and protesting President Obama’s trade agenda.
Just like with the TPP, our president and his cohorts are taking measures to ensure that the TTIP negotiations are taking place in secret, out of the public eye so as to avoid outcry over the malignant sections the agreement will include.
The public concern is justified when you consider TTIP will threaten food safety, climate change policy, family farmers, internet freedom, workers’ rights, access to medicines, financial regulation and other critical public interest objectives in the United States.
As if that’s not enough to protest the Obama administration’s corrupt agenda, another terrifying reality of TTIP is how greatly multinational corporations will benefit. Many worry these greedy corporations are exceptionally dangerous because they are constantly looking for ways to boost their profits. TTIP will allow greedy corporations to take advantage of the trade and investment side of the agreement, allowing them to manipulate the trade agreement into assuring the consolidation of financial, economic, and political power into their own hands.
President Obama and other government officials taking part in this harmful trade agreement are going to stand by and watch as TTIP further cripples our country because it benefits the greedy 1% — the wealthy elite that President Obama himself is a member of.
Wake up America! We cannot afford to sit by and allow this blatant display of corruption to continue. We must stand up to Washington and demand an end to these economy-killing “free trade” agreements. Let your congressional representative know that we must stop TTIP.
