The World Trade Organization (WTO) is a biased, undemocratic organization of 160 nationsthat limits America’s ability to act in its own best interest. The corporate agenda of the organization has destroyed the American economy, allowing multinationalists to exploit the world’s cheap resources and put America out of work and out of business.
Being a member of the WTO means the United States has the same voting privileges as a smaller country, such as Grenada (Article IX, p. 5). What is even more alarming is that the WTO has come to represent the most efficient form of colonization the world has ever seen: reaping all the benefits with no downsides of occupation.
The WTO routinely trumps U.S. laws and conventions with its rulings. According to former trade representative Robert Lighthizer, the U.S. is one of the most sued nations in the WTO, and loses 9 out of every 10 cases brought against it. Just a couple months ago the U.S. lost a multi-billion dollar lawsuit in front of the WTO for trying to protect our manufacturers from foreign countries’ manipulative practices.
By signing the agreement with the World Trade Organization, the U.S. Congress has also agreed to concede a major portion of our sovereignty and usurp our democratic legislative process, including:
Clearly our involvement with the WTO is preventing the recovery of our economy. The U.S. has already lost enough due to our damaging treaty with that biased organization. There is still time to amend or leave the WTO. If the United States is to enjoy economic prosperity in the future, our leaders must do one or the other.
Some call it the Transatlantic Free Trade Area (TAFTA) and others call it the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).They’re both the same thing, and they’re both dangerous proposals, pushed by President Obama, that will have disastrous effects on the economy, health, safety, freedom, and sovereignty of the United States and her citizens.
Just like the TPP, TAFTA/TTIP is being negotiated between the United States and the EU behind closed doors and between lobbyists and corporate leaders. Once again President Obama could care less about the public’s opinion of what he’s calling another beneficial “free trade” agreement. Otherwise there would be more transparency coming from Washington with respect to the negotiations and what exactly will be involved in the agreement.
The fact that this agreement is being negotiated in secret, while concerning, isn’t even the biggest issue. The problem with TAFTA/TTIP is that it will be so much more than a “free trade” agreement. After all, the U.S. and the EU already partake in trade with each other. This agreement is particularly dangerous because it will obliterate U.S. sovereignty and grant corporations control over the day to day happenings in our “free” society.
It will only benefit financial, agribusiness, pharmaceutical, chemical and other U.S. and EU multinationals. And President Obama is all for it.
As it stands now, TAFTA/TTIP will threaten our internet and other freedoms while pushing America into the New World Order.
Under President Obama, power and freedom will be given to multinational corporations who care very little for the common folk. Obama will even allow them to manipulate the text of the agreement to ensure the consolidation of financial, economic, and political power into their own hands!
What the President will never admit to the very people who elected him is that these greedy corporations are also dangerous because they are constantly looking for ways to boost their profits at our expense. The President of the United States is well aware that TAFTA/TTIP will allow corporations to go to extreme lengths like exposing entire populations to toxic food products, sacrificing the financial future of nations for short-term gain, destroying the environment, and even inciting war so they can sell weapons to war-torn countries around the world, and so on.
Basically, our Commander in Chief is more than willing to surrender the health, safety, freedoms and sovereignty of his people in order to appease already mega-wealthy corporations who stand to make more money from our suffering! This cannot be allowed. Now is the time to protest the continued negotiations of TAFTA/TTIP!
Let your Congressional representative know that they must stand against President Obama’s U.S. – EU trade agreement. Send this article to five of your friends and ask them to do the same!

- conforming U.S. laws, regulations and administrative procedures to the will of the WTO (Article XVI, p. 10)
- subjecting all federal, state and local laws and practices that affect trade to international review by the WTO (Article XVI, p. 10)
- allowing any WTO member country to challenge federal, state and local laws and practices as trade impeding (Section 2 of the Dispute Settlement Understanding)
- taking all trade disputes to the WTO judiciary – giving the WTO final jurisdiction over all trade altercations. No appeal exists outside of the WTO (Section 2 of the Dispute Settlement Understanding)
- empowering the WTO to enforce its rulings by imposing fines on the United States until we comply
- disallowing Congress to change the agreement
